A study of the harmonic principles underlying tonal music. Through composition and analysis of music in the common practice style, students will develop a deeper understanding of harmony and the organization of musical material. Course content will be reinforced through ear-training and sight-singing exercises.

Prerequisite: MUS 202 with a minimum grade of D.
