The course begins with the Minoan and Mycenaean civilizations (c.3500-c.1100 BCE) and ends with the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BCE. Topics include Troy, the rise and fall of Athens and Sparta, the Persian wars, the Peloponnesian wars, the origins of democracy, and the rise of Alexander the Great.
